Today, Perception unveiled their new website to the public, experienceperception.com, showcasing brand new projects, collaborations and designs. The website was developed by Lorelle Reid & her company Contour Code.
Perception is a visual effects and design lab pioneering the visionary process of Science Fiction Thinking to design the future. Science Fiction Thinking, the process of perceiving the world through the lens of what is possible instead of what currently exists by utilizing the five senses, was a major inspiration for the framework of the new website.
“We’re very excited to launch our new site, it’s been a long time coming,” said Jeremy Lasky, Partner and Co-Founder of Perception. “We have so much new work that we are so proud of. We can’t wait to finally share it with the world.”
The Perception website is completely interactive, allowing visitors to explore Perception’s portfolio of work and company history through dynamic and bright pages. The blue and black color scheme of the website, inspired by the advanced technology and sci-fi film work that Perception is involved in, is accompanied by original Unreal Engine imagery depicting the Perception laboratory – a home for the team’s innovative and futuristic design process.
“Bringing these Unreal Engine pieces into our website was about exploring new worlds that we’re excited about, both in UE5 and the build of the Perception laboratory,” said Greg Herman, Creative Director at Perception, who crafted the Perception laboratory images. “We’re a passionate team and a passionate brand, and this is representative of that.”
Along with a new look, the Perception website offers a slew of brand new case studies, highlighting Perception’s work in both the film world and the technology world. New case studies include Disney & Pixar’s Lightyear Title Design and Raytheon Technologies Real Time Flight Display.
“The new site is full of new film and technology work,” said Danny Gonzalez, Partner and Co-Founder of Perception. “We get to share more of our technology projects and it lets our visitors get an inside look on how Perception designs the future!”
The Perception website has officially launched and is available for all visitors to view. The Perception team is eager to continue sharing new work, insights and ideas through their updated and elevated website.
Perception is a team of design visionaries brought together to architect the future of technology for cinema, and the world’s most innovative companies. The two founders started the company in 2001 to pioneer a new era of motion graphics, becoming one of the first studios to blaze the trail of high-end visual effects all created on the desktop. In the last 22 years, Perception has evolved to break new ground in cinema and cutting-edge user experience design. The Perception team divides their days teleporting between the parallel dimensions of fantasy and reality. Whether working on the next superhero blockbuster or an intelligent and delightful experience for industries of the future, storytelling is at the very foundation of everything they do.
